Over forty-six years of experience in fields of agriculture, rural development, socio-economic Study, and techno-economic study of the tea industry in reputed organizations including 12 years as a faculty member in the apex training institute ( BIRD-Bolpur, WB) and 3 years teaching in a Management institute on full time and 2 years in University and college, guiding and organizing the agricultural economist in the evaluation study, preparing notes on policy issues to management and editing a referred journal of management and conducting special studies having implications on governments policies, agribusiness promotion facilities as Lead Economist in World Bank Project in “Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Development Project” stationed at Shimla.`
Dr Banerjee is presently a distinguished fellow, Ph. D guide, and hard-core researcher in Agriculture, industry, & service Sectors, Management, and Project Consultant of NABCONS/ PWC/Deloitte and Ph.D. guide. He is presently busy in undertaking research-based on secondary data and published 32 books on various fields namely tea (8), financial inclusion (2), water resources and environmental sustainability (1), fisheries sector (1) rural development (1), aromatic and medicinal plants (1), impact assessment studies (2), health (1), education (1), from voluntary agencies / non-governmental organization to social enterprises(1), housing for all (1), rural entrepreneurship: growth strategies for India (1), pulses processing and marketing(1), Nagaland –the immense potentials(1), challenges for small scale sector (1), reviving rural economy of India (3), etc.. Besides, 200 papers were published in International and national journals of repute given in the publication.
